Product Details

Are your products mass-produced?

No, in fact each piece is built to order in our shop using real wood and traditional construction methods. It would be rare for us to have the unit you selected in stock.

How long will it take to make my Range Hood?

A safe estimate is 14 days, we can usually get your range hood queued in with other work in the shop. If we feel it will be longer we will contact you. If you have a tight timeline please email us.

Will the wood look exactly like the photos?

Not exactly. Wood is a natural material, so grain, color, and tone will vary from piece to piece. We select materials carefully, but variation is part of the character.

What finishes do you offer?

All range hoods are available in Walnut, White Oak, Maple, and Cherry, each selected for its natural beauty and ability to age gracefully over time.

White Oak (Rift Cut)

  • Light White Oak – A near-natural finish with a subtle white/grey wash to soften the wood’s natural yellow undertone. Clean, calm, and contemporary.
  • Warm White Oak – Gently toned to a warm, slightly brown hue, reminiscent of lightly fumed oak with a soft maple-syrup warmth.
  • Charcoal White Oak – Rift-cut white oak finished in a deep charcoal tone that enhances the linear grain while maintaining visible texture and depth. A modern, architectural finish with a grounded, understated richness.

Walnut

  • Natural Walnut – Rich chocolate tones with subtle red and golden undertones.
  • Dark Walnut – Deepened to emphasize darker chocolate tones for a more dramatic, high-contrast look.

Maple

  • Finished in its natural state, maple presents as a clean, pale wood with subtle pink undertones. Bright, minimal, and refined.

Cherry

  • Cherry begins as a mellow orange tone and deepens beautifully over time, developing richer color and character with age.

Primed or Custom Color

  • Primed to be finished by a finish professional, or custom color. We recommend sending a sample as well as a Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams color code.

Each finish is designed to highlight the natural character of the wood, not conceal it. Because wood is a natural material, variation in grain, tone, and texture is to be expected—and is part of what makes every piece unique.

Can I customize my hood?

Yes, for sure, depending on the design, you can select size, height, and configuration options. Details are available on each product page.

If you need something truly bespoke we can take care of that too, just reach out with what you had in mind.

What insert do I need?

Each hood is designed around specific insert sizes. We list compatible options on the product page to make selection straightforward.

If you have an insert you prefer, or already have one, you can provide the cutout dimensions on the product page and we will create an opening of that size (+1/16") for you.

Installation

Do I need a contractor to install it?

Most installers or experienced DIYers can handle installation. If you’re unsure, a contractor is always a safe choice.

Do you provide installation instructions?

Yes, we provide instructions, and guidance to you or your installer to ensure a smooth installation.

Are your hoods compatible with standard cabinetry?

Yes, they’re designed to align with common cabinet sizes and layouts, making integration into most kitchens straightforward.

Some range hood styles will ask you to choose between 12" standard depth upper cabinets and 15" Ikea depth upper cabinets.

In some scenarios the 15" depth may be the look you are after even on a 12" standard depth cabinet.
